Cheryl is back. Be careful what you wish for!' Cheryl said: ''I’m very happy and excited to be returning to The X Factor. I’m inspired and ready to find new talent and potential pop stars. It’s going to be a fun series.' Cheryl's comment came after posting a new shot of herself and Simon on her Instagram page, which shows that she is about to choke Simon. The photo has a captioned of: 'GUESS WHAT!!.. I'm baaaacccckkkkk!!!! #iMayActuallyRingHisNeck #XFactor2014 #leggooo (sic)' Before the announcement, reports claimed that she signed a deal of £1.5million to return to the show, which she was part of the judging panel from 2008 to 2010. In an interview by The Sun newspaper on one of Cheryl’s friend, the friend said: 'This is nothing to do with the money. She loves the show and has unfinished business.' Cheryl and Simon friendship hangs in the balanced when Simon fired the former judge from the panel of the US version of the show three years ago. A friend of Cheryl added to the newspaper that the mogul has been since begging her to go back to the talent show for years. 'She feels like a different person to the last time she was on the show — she can finally be happy.' Simon - who was a judge on the show from 2004 to 2010 – also confirmed that he is going back as one of the panel this year. On a press release, he said: 'I am so happy that Cheryl has agreed to join The X Factor again. The last time we worked together in the UK was incredible and produced some really successful artists. Obviously the plan is to do the same again... so it's back to work!' Reports claimed that Simon has been trying to convince the former Girls Aloud singer to go back for the last few months to go back and be one of the judges for the show. However, there are no confirmations on who will take the seats of eh other two judges. Earlier in 2014, Louish Walsh announced his retirement from the show, but fans of the show is still hoping the he would reconsider.
