The future of The X Factor musical is now hanging in the balance - The musical show got delayed twice and now some people believe that it might not take place. "I Can't Sing" is a parody of the reality TV show, The X Factor

The producers of the ITV reality show, X Factor is hoping that their new musical will be as successful as that of The Book of Mormon, which was launched last year. But, that is not possible since the future of I Can’t Sing!, a parody of The X Factor, is hanging in the balance after the show's opening preview performance was cancelled for the second time in a row this weekend. The £6m musical tells the story of a young woman that lives in a caravan with a talking dog and become famous because of a talent show that features stars former EastEnders actor Nigel Harman and other characters that resembles the likes of Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole and Louis Walsh. The venture was supposed to premiere at an earlier time, but got delayed twice, and now it will open on Wednesday at the Palladium Theatre, is the brainchild of comedian Harry Hill and directed by Sean Foley. However, there are reports suggesting that the productions have suffered from awful ticket sales. According to an influential Theatreland blogger West End Whingers; Harry was funny, but he might not be enough to salvage the show. And the parody show might have been too late. Paul, the blogger added, that West End might not need another X Factor-type musical after the horrors of Viva Forever!? The musical show that features The Spice Girls was the last production that has a connection to the reality television industry. The trouble began after poor ticket sales and damming reviews. In one statement Rebecca Quigley, producer for Stage Entertainment, claimed that it was the “particularly intricate” piece of the set for the I Can’t Sing! that causes the delays. She said: “I’d like to offer our sincere apologies to everyone who has bought a ticket for this week’s preview performances and can assure you that everyone at the Palladium is working night and day to guarantee that I Can’t Sing!, in all its hilarious, all-singing, all-dancing glory, will begin previews next week as scheduled.” However, recently a spokesman for Stage Entertainment denied the suggestion that poor ticket sales or trouble behind the scenes at the production were the culprit. Cowell, the financial supporter of the show was very happy with the production. However, some dissatisfied fans have branded the delays a “shambles”. Selena Zafar, from Manchester, a fan of the show said that she believes that this is because the show is just new, but eventually they can patch things up and all will be fine.
