ABC News (ABC) is an American television news network
who gained international attention after covering the 1979 Iran hostage crisis and the 1989 San Francisco Loma Prieta earthquake. But I am sure you already knew that.
covers all kinds of news from national to international and has an ever growing audience of younger viewers who get up early and have nothing to do before the "good" programs come on.
ABC's "Good Morning America
" airs weekly at 7a.m EST and is considered to be the second most viewed program on the network. I personally like the easy feel to the program; it is not as "up tight" as some of the other morning shows around. But other critics say that the program is dying and the audience is probably "out playing golf" at that time in the morning. Nonetheless I think it is a pretty good addition to the ABC News channel, especially since they just named George Stephanopoulos as their new anchor.
is a division of ABC Broadcasting Company which is owned by Disney, since Disney owns ESPN ABC's sports bulletins, videos, and game coverage are all provided by ESPN. This is one really good feature of ABC News because nobody has to argue the fact that ESPN offers quality sports programming.
The ABC News
website is well built and very user friendly. Like most other news networks ABC's website carries a hoard of information that you will not find anywhere else. Finance, Healthy Living, Entertainment, Recipes, Parenting, Pets, and Books are a few of the categories you can expect to find on their website.
All things considered I think ABC
has definitely earned their news license and millions of viewers. How long they will last depends entirely upon their conformation to faster paced programming geared towards the rising generation.
