After spending less than a year after getting engaged on The Bachelor, Courtney Robertson and Ben Flajnik have finally separated ways. On Sunday, the Clairol model was seen without her engagement ring in Los Angeles as she left home to exercise. Though, the former couple claimed that it was a mutual break-up, Courtney’s dad, Rick Robertson blames it to Ben's controlling personality, which eventually killed the relationship. Reports claimed that the brunette remains 'heartbroken' and hasn't stopped crying since she parted ways with her boyfriend. Rick says: 'Courtney and Ben started out great as a couple, but over time they’ve definitely grown apart.' He explained: 'Courtney came to me, and her mom a couple weeks ago to tell us it was over, but she’s still really upset, heartbroken and disappointed that things didn't work out with Ben. 'She hasn’t stopped crying since.' The ABC Reality show stars called it quits after spending nine long months of and televised engagement. The former couple blames the pressure of becoming a couple in front of the public for the separation. In a recent interview, with In Touch magazine, the pair said: 'After meeting over a year ago, we have decided to end our romantic relationship. 'The ups and downs weighed heavily on us both and ultimately we started to grow apart because of the distance, time apart, and our need to focus on our respective careers.' But Courtney's dad despite her daughter effort on moving on, his daughter is still heartbroken. 'They were making wedding plans, had a date set for next year and Courtney had her wedding dress all picked out,' he said. 'But in the last few months Courtney has really seen Ben’s true colours and realized their personalities and lifestyles just don’t match up together. 'My wife always said Ben wasn’t "The One" and warned Courtney that Ben was trying to control her by pressuring her to quit her modeling career and move to San Francisco, which sent up red flags early on in the relationship. 'With Ben’s wine business in San Francisco and Courtney’s modeling career in Santa Monica neither of them were willing to give up their lives for each other.' 'To be honest I’ve never seen two people more in love and I was looking forward to welcoming Ben as my son-in-law, but, unfortunately, his pressures on Courtney to relocate took its toll.’ 'I don’t know if finding love on The Bachelor was the right thing for Courtney but if nothing else it was a romance to remember.'
