The Voice has been taking the crown every week, but this week is different since the rival ITV talent search show, Britain Got Talent got ahead of the BBC talent show. The Voice got defeated because they were showing prerecorded results last Sunday. Most of the fans decided to switch over to BGT since it is showing a live broadcast. Aside from the prerecorded show, The Voice mentor will.i.am even tried to fool viewers by tweeting on Sunday ahead of the 'live' show. 'Tonight is going to be a difficult decision for me...I hate the idea of sending talented people home...#thevoiceuk' he tweeted regardless of the fact that the show was pre-recorded on Saturday night. Later, one of the fans tweeted and noted that the show was pre-recorded since they are wearing the same clothes they wore on Saturday. Another fan voiced out his annoyance about the pre-recorded show. According to an insider, the show was indeed pre-recorded. BBC does it so that they could save some money. The voting for the telephone voting lines was closed at 9pm on Saturday night – having opened only half an hour earlier. The source tried to justified the act by saying that they do not want to be accused of wasting licensed fee payers’ money.’ Report claimed that the show will be pre-recorded until the live final on Saturday, June 2. The rating war is not that far away even if some fans got disappointed over the pre-recorded show since The Voice peaked with 10.3 million and averaged 9.3 million, while BGT got thrilled in seeing that the show peak at 10.7 million viewers and average 9.4 million throughout the episode. However, it is not only the ratings war that are disappointing for BBC since one of their judge was not paying his attention to the show. The Black Eyed Peas rapper was spotted texting during the Saturday night's show despite the cameras rolling. He looked down at his cellphone the whole time that the show was broadcasting. According to the Daily Star, the BBC was fuming at Will.i.am's actions and starts accusing him of being 'unprofessional, rude and disrespectful.' However, the U.S. star defended his action by saying that he as using the phone so that he could promote the show. Thank you everyone who watched #thevoiceuk tonight...if you saw me on my phone I wasn't being rude...I was connecting to people watching,' he later tweeted. He then added: 'tv, phone, laptop, & tablet.. its a new day...if I dont tweet during live tv I’m not connecting to people watching in the new way #thevoiceuk' Reports claimed that a floor manager approached and asked Will.i.am to switch off his phone but clearly refused to do so.
