The nights were tough for both Sir Tom Jones and Will.i.am on The Voice as they had to bid farewell to half of their teams. Luckily, that their top two acts advances to the semi-finals. The other two judges of the BBC One’s reality had nothing to worry about since they do not lose any of their acts. Both Sir Tom and Will.i.am got informed that one of their acts would automatically be saved by the public. The act who receives the most votes for the night will be saved. Aside from the public vote, they have the option of saving one of their three acts and sending him/her to the semi-finals. Ruth Brown got chosen by the public to continue to the semi-finals. Brown sang her version of Emili Sande's Next To Me. Right after the performance, Tom got emotional and said: 'When I hear Ruth sing I get choked up'. Jones seemed to be moved to learnt that he have to chose among his acts on who he must send to the semi-finals. He told presenter Holly Willoughby that all of his acts were great, but he must make his decision. It was a tough time for him since he had made a good relationship with all of them. Sir Tom had chosen Leanne, but Adam took the snub incredibly graciously. Adam replied that he agrees with the decision. Suelene added: 'It has been a crazy, amazing experience and Tom just having the belief in us has meant so much. It has been such a positive experience'. Will.i.am got faced into the same fate when he had to send two of his acts home. He faced with the problem of losing Joelle Moses, Tyler James, Jaz Ellington and Frances Wood. Jass got the most number of votes and got save from the elimination. The Black Eyed Peas seems to be expecting it already. He said: 'I'm not surprised at all Jaz is a superb singer'. Soon, he was left to choosing who he wanted to save for the semi-final fairly. It was quite easy for him. He stated: 'We've learned a lot together. We've had a whole bunch of fun but now's battle time... I'm preparing for battle and I need somebody that is given any scenario and comes through with flying colours and comes out smooth and cool... and that's Tyler.' Next week, it will be Team Jessie and Team Danny who are going to be halved as they are faced with the same scenario with their remaining four acts each.
