Days of our Lives is an American television drama series that airs on NBC this is currently the third longest running soap opera in America. Another interesting fact about this show is that they are one of the few which have all their episodes intact. Most other shows lose track or destroy some of their hard copies by mistake but the creators of days of our lives have done a great job at keeping everything safe. Days of our Lives was created by Ted Corday and Betty Corday a husband and wife team. Both of them take equal responsibility for unleashing this show upon the nation. Over the years Days of our Lives has been one of the top rated soap operas not just in America but also around the world. As you can expect the plot line of this show has changed greatly over the years but the fictional Horton family has always been the center of attention. For a complete list of characters and cast you can visit any one of the major fan sites or check them out at NBC.com Usually when I write about television shows I tell people to try and catch up on the story line by watching all the pervious episodes or seasons. But with Days of our Lives there is no point in doing that because as of February 2010 this program has aired over 11,200 episodes! Unless you plan to spend a complete year and a half in front of the TV with no sleep, food, or any other distractions it is not possible to watch all of the episodes of this show. The creators of this show really hit the jackpot; they have been successful in making the whole world laugh, cry, yell, scream, and waste away their days in front of the television. If you watch just one episode you may not be hooked but after a while of watching you start to think of the characters as your friends or enemies. This is the power that Soap operas have on the general public; is that a bad thing? Sometimes it can be good and sometimes it can be bad. I am not here to make moral judgments for you but more often than none it is the latter. I give this program a 7/10 solely on the fact that it has been around for more years than anyone can remember and is still going strong.
