Family Guy - The first thing that will hit you about this show is the fact that the show is the exact opposite of what its theme song states: "Lucky there's a man who positively can do all the things that make us laugh and cry" Yes almost everything in the show will make you laugh and cry, but in a positive way? No.

The first thing that will hit you about this show is the fact that the show is the exact opposite of what its theme song states: "Lucky there's a man who positively can do all the things that make us laugh and cry" Yes almost everything in the show will make you laugh and cry, but in a positive way? No. Over the years Seth MacFarlane has been known to put out some of the highest rated cartoons for young adults; Family Guy is his best work. Family Guy first aired in 1999 and was canceled after only 3 seasons, but due to the large DVD sales of this show the administrators at Fox decided to bring the show back in 2004 and it has been one the air ever since. The show centers around Peter a dimwitted blue collar worker who lives with his wife, three children, and a talking dog. Yes, that is not a typo; Seth seems to have a fascination with talking animals, if he has anything to do with a show you can expect to see one, two, or even three animals with anthropomorphic qualities. Most episodes of this show are similar in plot out line; Peter comes up with a new dumb idea, gets everybody in trouble, and by the end of the episode the problem is solved but three or four random people are left dead. These random people are usually celebrities, town folk or unsuspecting passersby. With all the annoying segments littering this show it is a wonder how anybody still watches it. In almost every episode of Family Guy there is at least a minute long segment which is put in just to annoy viewers. These segments usually have nothing to do with the show and sometimes include random clips of nonsense; other times the show will end abruptly leaving the plot unfinished. The creators of family guy have been sued more than once for violating copyright restrictions, so far none of these lawsuits have been successful. Defaming popular celebrities, making parodies or songs, and stereotyping races are all in a day's work the writers of this show. But I am not going to carry them too hard; this show is pretty funny if you know how to take a joke. If you are looking for a very funny cartoon to watch check out Family Guy on the Fox Network, just make sure to use your discretion when letting the kids sit this one out with you.
