Out of all the new TV shows that came out in 2009 FlashForward has come out on top. This show is exciting, action packed, and filled with tons of surprises. It is very hard to explain the show without giving away too many spoilers but I'm going to do my best. The creators of FlashForward got their inspiration from the 1999 novel FlashForward, the plot goes something like this: For an unknown reason everybody on the planet lost consciousness for 137 seconds, during this time most people saw a "vision" of their future. This has caused mass problems: for example one woman saw herself getting out of bed with another man, but she is already married and the guy in her Flash was not her current husband. Others have even seen themselves killing people or committing violent acts, so you can image the amount of problems this has caused. In the show some characters go as far as doing things to make their flashforwards come true, but unlike most shows and movies about the future; characters in FlashForward can change their "destiny" and some of them have done so by killing themselves. This also changes the destiny of others because if that person was in another person's FlashForward that FlashForward does not mean anything anymore. I know it sounds very confusing but trust me, if you watch the show you will be amazed at how everything fits perfectly together.
Unfortunately the show has been put on hold until March 4, 2010; the creators said they do not want to compete for viewers with the Winter Olympics Games. This is a real smart move on their part; many good shows have gone down the drain because they were put out at the wrong time. But, you can still watch all ten episodes being aired right now on
ABC.
ABC really hit the jackpot when they decided to buy the rights to this TV show; critics all over the nation are calling it "the next big thing". The show has very good writers, directors, actors, and actress behind it, and I must say they do a really great job at setting you up for the next episodes.
