Raised in army bases, Harris Faulkner has attained recognition in the journalism world and for various reasons. For starters, so far, she has won six Emmy awards, has attained a lifetime award from the state of Kansas and has a background of great academic achievements. Though she has also worked in radio and is still an active writer, her greatest accomplishment is her current position which is the breaking news anchor in one of the leading television stations, the FOX News channel. It is ideal to note that the news segment she brings is called Happening Now and she is also part of America's pulse. Her progress in journalism has seen her advance to the position she currently holds through hard work and for this reason, has been through various television stations where she has gathered her expertise and fine tuned her skills not only as a news anchor but also as a writer. In 1993 up to sometime in 2000 for instance, she was the evening news anchor for FOX for News in Kansas though it is ideal to note that her career started off at WNCT-TV which is in Greenville, North Carolina. Other places where she has worked include; the FM107 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, KSTP-TV and the FNC among others. It is also important to note that she has worked as a fill in host for the Nancy Grace Show which was part of CNN Headline News. Her talents are not limited to the screen alone since she is also renowned as a motivational speaker and transverses through the nation speaking to various groups of people. What is more, it is also ideal to state that she largely takes part in charity organizations and for this reason, is held in high regards by clergy people who call on her to talk to congregations. Harris Faulkner has also written a book titled "Breaking News: God has a plan". In this book, she shares her story and depicts how being a public figure with a secret almost got her killed as she was stalked by a man out to kill her and says that there are times when people are forced to choose excellence in order to survive. It probably is for this reason that when she was on the Montel show, the host Montel Williams appraised her for having a wealth of knowledge to share and he could not have been far from the truth.
