House is an American medical drama series that airs on the
Fox Television Network. This program has run for 5 consecutive seasons and is currently in its 6th season. This show was created in the early part of 2004, debuted in the latter part of that same year, and the rest is history. House is geared towards both male and females alike and most of its viewers range from ages 16-50. As you can see one of the reasons this show is so successful is because of its wide audience range.
If you still do not believe how successful this show consider this fact: Actor Hugh Laurie earns about $400,000 per episode. This is a whole lot considering the fact that this is only a television show, most television actors earn around $60,000 per year; but not the actors from house.
House centers around the life of Dr. House and his coworkers. Dr. House is the head of diagnostics at the fictional medical center Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital; he has the almost unnatural ability to diagnose almost any illness with little or no trouble at all. As with most fictional characters who have great genius Dr. House has a hard time relating to other people and almost always seems distant, heartless, rude, and lacking a soul altogether; though I should state that in a few episodes we get to see the softer side of Dr. House.
House has been received well by most critics and has remained in the top ten lists of best shows to watch from the following news papers: Chicago Tribune, The New York Times, Chicago Sun-Times, The Boston Globe, and many more. House has also collected a ton of awards along the way some of which include: A Peabody Award, two Golden Globe Awards, Screen Actors Guild prize, and the Humanitas Prize. Most critics love the fact that the main character (Dr. House) is different than most, his personality is just something like no other.
If you are the kind of person who loves medical dramas; house is the show for you. This show is pretty intriguing because of the suspense, drama, and overall great character design. The creators of this show really did a great job with putting everything together and the writers have definitely followed up with this show making sure every episode is better than the previous one.
