The other day, J. Lo told Ryan that she will not be returning to the Fox reality show so that she could concentrate on her music career and two young children. However, according to a report in a Hollywood trade paper, the former American Idol judge was actually dumped by [U.S. network] Fox. She immediately got dumped after she asked for a $2 million raise in salary', which would have taken the 42-year-old's pay to a whopping $17 million. Aside from Jennifer, Steve Tyler will also not appear on the next season of the show. Last, Thursday, Steve announced his retirement from the show as he wanted to work with his band mates. He told TMZ: 'After some long, hard thoughts, I’ve decided it’s time for me to let go of my mistress American Idol before she boils my rabbit.' There are also several reports from numerous sites, claiming that Randy Jackson will not be returning on the Fox reality show. According to an insider, Fox executives Peter Rice and Kevin Reilly have plan son revamping the show. Rice wants to have an 'Idol 2.0,' wherein Ryan Seacrest would be the only face to return on the reality show. American idol has dominated the U.S. ratings for several years, but have slipped in recent years, losing out to NBC's Sunday Night Football last season, with ratings slipping by 23%. However, The Wrap believes that the rating drop was because of ‘American idol’ competitors like The Voice and X Factor. As of now, there are no hints on who will replace Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez. Some of the familiar faces that are on the line of replacing the two judges are Mariah Carey, Kanye West, Mary J. Blige, Lenny Kravitz, Katy Perry and -up Adam Lambert. On an interview, the other day Jennifer Lopez claimed that she did not leave because of the bigger paycheck. 'It wasn’t ever playing any games or doing anything or wanting more and more money,' she said. 'It wasn’t any of that. It was just being smart about making a business decision, and I had to really be responsible in that moment.' She added: 'It's just really going to be hard for me to go. It’s just one of those special things in your life that you just don’t want to walk away from. 'You don’t want to shut the door completely, but you know, the time has come ... we had an amazing run.' Seacrest twitted the news on his account: 'Just confirmed w/ @JLo she's made up her mind...will leave idol. :( gonna miss her.'
