Law & Order - When Law & Order was created in 1990 no one thought it would be around this long, but as the years rolled by and other shows failed this one has still been standing. Law & Order has aired 445 episodes to date and has run for a total of 20 seasons. Law & Order will officially become the longest running television drama as of its 21st season; this season has already been given the green light by NBC and is currently in production.

When Law & Order was created in 1990 no one thought it would be around this long, but as the years rolled by and other shows failed this one has still been standing. Law & Order has aired 445 episodes to date and has run for a total of 20 seasons. Law & Order will officially become the longest running television drama as of its 21st season; this season has already been given the green light by NBC and is currently in production. Law & Order is so popular that tons of movies and spin offs have been created from this show including: Law & Order Special Victims Unit, Law & Order Trial by Jury, Conviction, Law & Order UK, Homicide: Life on the Streets, and a few more. The main reason why Law & Order has lasted this long is because it is not like all the other shows out there; most other crime dramas end with the criminals being caught and most court room dramas start with the alleged criminal in the court room, but Law & Order follows the whole story from the start of the crime all the way till the suspect is convicted or set free. Although a lot of Law & Order episodes are very entertaining, of lately I have found this program to be nothing more than a propaganda machine under the guidance of Dick Wolf. If you run a TV show I am sure there will be a certain bias to it, but attacking private citizens by way of your show is never a good practice. Dick Wolf has done this on more than one occasion; even going as far as to likening people to cancer and making stand-in characters of people who get murdered and raped. Look, I have to give NBC credit; they got it good with this show, but I hope they will bring their writers under control before they get sued for defaming someone's character, or before somebody gets hurt by some lunatic who takes their statements to heart. Personally I find Law & Order to be losing the kick it use to have, but don't let that discourage you from seeing the show for yourself. The new season has started which means brand new episodes; these may be better than the ones from last season, so head over to NBC and check out this show for yourself.
