Because of the news that her grandmother’s death, this week's X Factor theme of love and heartbreak will no doubt put Lucy Spraggan to a test if she could perform well onstage. When the singer songwriter arrived back at The Corinthia Hotel from rehearsals on Thursday, she looked understandably sad after visiting her grandmother. Lucy is known to perform her original songs so speculation will be high to see whether she created a new song in memory of her grandmother or will channel her emotions and hide her feelings. Speaking about her grandma, she referred to her grandma as 'a great woman': 'She was so proud to see me singing and I’m glad that I made her smile. She’ll be greatly missed.' She made her way into the luxury hotel with a number of her X Factor competitors along with her trustee guitar. Spraggan got some support from Tulisa and the other singers on the girls' team, the other contestants seem to be getting on well together. Jade Ellis, who is on Tulisa's team with Lucy and Ella Henderson, was spotted in a group hug with MK1's  Charlie Rundle and Simeon Dixon The three singers were all dolled up ready for a night out in the capital. Earlier in the day Jade, 25, sported a far less done-up outfit - as did MK, who chooses comfort instead of sophistication in mismatched prints and large headphones. But the fresh-faced mother of one made it work with a bashful smile on her face - most probably a result of the box of flowers she had in her hands. Looking just as snug was 16-year old teammate Ella who kept herself warm in a beanie hat, scarf and padded gilet. Whereas James McArthur was a far cry from the bedsit busker at the X Factor auditions, in a polished suit jacket, black shirt, lean jeans and black boots. However the 23-year old humorously held up a plate with a photo of an English fry-up on the front for the cameras that indicates the breakfast he's been eating that day at the five star hotel. The District 3 boys were also complete; they lap up attentions that their new found fame has brought them. Greg, 18, Mickey, 18, and Dan, 19, were sporting far more laid back attire than James. But it seemed like though Greg was ready for the Halloween already as he was wearing a scary skull print T-shirt.
