Max Kellerman was born on August 6th 1973 and is best known for his radio hosting, commentating and sports journalism work for American boxing and is based in New York City, New York. Kellerman, aged 36, is best known for his work with the ESPN network where he commentated on Friday Night Fights with Brian Kenny, however he has also commentated on Sports Talk Radio and more recently as part of the commentating team with HBO World Championship Boxing and HBO Boxing After Dark. Additionally Max was a daily host of WEPN in New York. Aged 25, Kellerman graduated Colombia College in 1998 following on from Hunter College High School in New York. He later married lawyer Erin Manning, who he refers to as 'Trixie' on his radio shows. Kellerman does not have a middle name and insists that his first name 'Max' is not short for a full name. Despite Kellerman insisting that he is an atheist with no religious beliefs as such, he is active in some Jewish cultural pastimes and is said to be fluent in Yiddish. Max's brother Sam Kellerman's body was found dead at his Hollywood apartment on October 17th 2004. Former boxer and ten year friend of Sam's, James Butler, was later arrested, charged and confessed to the murder of Max's brother. He was sentenced to over 29 years in prison. Immediately after graduating from Colombia University with a history degree, Max became a sports analyst on the ESPN network's boxing series 'Friday Night Fights'. However in 2004 Kellerman left the network in 2004 after failing to reach an agreement on a new contract. Following ESPN, Kellerman moved to a job with Fox Sports in May that year where he took temporary leave after his brother's murder. Upon his return the show was soon cancelled despite gaining the networks highest ratings for a considerable amount of time. This was also accountable due to conflicts with the networks management. Kellerman moved on to stints with Spike TV's series 'King of Vegas' in 2005 and then to contributing permanently on MSNBC. This segment of Kellermans career ended in March 2008 when the show was cancelled. Since then Max has been part of broadcasting shows including WEPN and ESPN radio in New York. This extended to work on ESPNEWS and SportsCenter. Additionally in 2008 Kellerman added XM Radio and ESPN Xtra to his workload and when his co-host left the show for other duties, the program became known as 'The Max Kellerman Show'. In early 2009 both ESPN and Kellerman mutually agreed to end the contract. Today, Kellermans work can be heard on the HBO network where he started on the 'Boxing After Dark' series and hosting the HBO World Championship Boxing program. Max Kellerman also made a cameo appearance, playing himself, in the film 'Rocky Bilboa' where he played part of the broadcasting team in one of the films boxing scenes.
