One Tree Hill is an American television teen drama that airs on
The CW network. This program was first launched in late 2003 and has since completed 6 seasons; one Tree Hill is currently in its 7th season. The show centers on the lives of two half brothers who basically hate each other at first, but over the years they have become good friends to the point where they have each other's back no matter what.
One Tree Hill has changed a lot over the years, the characters have finished high school, college, and are currently living out their lives in their home town of Tree Hill. One thing that had viewers in an uproar was the fact that
The CW has changed the time line of this program many times, at times even skipping years of information. For example the fifth season takes place four years after the forth season.
One of the reasons people like this show is because they are allowed to participate in it. For example the writers have allowed the viewers to choose whether characters will kiss when they first meet each other; sometimes it is little things that keep a show going. In addition contests have been held for insignificant parts in the show. On a totally different note; I must say that this show is filled with product placement; sometimes it is evident and other times not so much. For example, if you take a look at the phones featured throughout the episodes you will notice that they are almost always from AT&T, in addition all the sports gear is provided by Nike.
As with most of the teen shows on
The CW One Tree Hill has lost about 1/3 of its viewers as of season 7. This is probably because teen shows only cater to a small age range and their diehard fans soon grow up and head off to college. Never the less the stars from one tree hill continue to dominate the Teen Choice Awards taking home tons of awards every year.
One Tree Hill is an average show, to tell you the truth I do not know how it has lasted so long. Other shows with better story lines have come and gone, but not One Tree Hill; it is still going strong and has been renewed for an 8th season.
