Richard Crenna was an American actor who became famous for his many roles in television shows and movies. He is best known for his work on Judging Army and the Rambo franchise, and over the years he has been highly awarded for his work in the film industry. Early Life: Richard Donald Crenna was born on the 30th of November 1926 in Los Angeles, California. Unlike other actors Richard did not have a very challenging childhood; his mother worked as a hotel manager so the family got to stay there; pay was not that bad either. After getting out of high school he attended the University of Southern California, here he majored in Theater Arts and after graduating he went on to star in many shows. Richard was not a small guy at his peak he stood 6'1 with an average body size, this is probably why he landed so many great army roles in movies. TV Career: After graduating from university, Richard did not waste much time; he started perusing his acting career right away and soon he had landed roles in popular shows such as I Love Lucy. His first huge break came when he was chosen to play the part of Walter Denton on Our Miss Brooks. In all he worked on 90 episodes of this show and of course by the time it was done his name was known by millions of American. For two years after he left the Our Miss Brooks show Richard played small roles in other shows, usually one episode characters that were not very meaningful to the show, but all this changed when he landed his second big role. In 1967 Richard was given the part of Luke McCoy on the show The Real McCoys. This show lasted much longer than the first big show he worked on and Richard ended up filming 161 episodes of it. The last TV show that Richard took part in was Judging Amy; in this show he played the part of Jared Duff for a total of 13 episodes. If he had not died I am almost sure he would have stuck with this show right up to its end. Other achievements: All things considered Richard Crenna was a great actor; he was smart, talented, and good looking. All of these qualities are what helped him to win Emmy Awards and tons of nominations every year. He even has his own Star on the Walk of Fame; it is located at 6714 Hollywood Blvd. so if you are ever in the area go check it out. The last thing I want to mention is his extensive film work; not only was Richard a small actor he was also a big screen too. In fact most people remember him best for his work on all three Rambo movies. There really no point in disputing whether he was a great actor or not; he has over 70 film credits to his name and there are very few people who can match that.
