Though, there are rumors about Cheryl Cole’s appearance on American Idol as the fourth judge, but Cole denied it. However, Rihanna prefers Cheryl than Jennifer Lopez on the Fox network talent show. In an interview with Rihanna by the Daily Star, she claimed that she knew why producers were eager to get Cole for American Idol and added that Cheryl would be amazing on the show. Rihanna did not like the fact that Simon Cowell fired Cheryl on the rival talent show, The X Factor (US). 'She was received so well on the US X Factor and most people couldn't really understand the decision to let her go.' Rihanna continued. Rihanna noted that Cheryl can replace Jennifer since the Girls Aloud star could soon rival the 42-year-old performer's star status. Rihanna added: 'Since [the X Factor] she has gone from strength to strength and is fast becoming a movie star over here. Cheryl had the experience for the job since she was a judge for the X Factor before. There are rumors arising that Idol bosses want Cole to work alongside join Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler on the panel. However, Cheryl denied the rumours and said it is not true. A source told the New York Post newspaper: 'It will be interesting to see how Jennifer Lopez deals with another beautiful woman sitting alongside her.' The newspaper also claimed that Cheryl might be a good replacement for Jennifer since the latter hinted that she might leave the show after two years on the panel. In an interview conducted by Ellen DeGeneres to Lopez, she said: ‘I don't know if I can go for a third year. I miss doing other things.’ 'It really does lock you down, which was nice the first year with the babies being three, but now they're getting more mobile, they're about to go into school ... so I just don't know.' There is a speculation that American Idol bosses are willing to pay Cheryl somewhere from $5m to $10m, compared to Jennifer's $15m to $20m. Cheryl had worked on the UK X Factor for three series, with her acts winning twice - was dumped from the US X Factor by boss Simon Cowell following the time she said that she was not comfortable in her new role. Nicole Scherzinger replaced her as a judge but got axed after the first series. If the rumors are true, then this would be a direct swipe by Simon Fuller against the TV mogul Simon Cowell.
