Sean Hannity is now a household name when it comes to radio talk, but how did he get here? Born and raised in New York Sean is the only son from a family of five. His maternal grandparents were emigrants from Ireland who came to America looking for a better life. During his early years Sean attended Sacred heart Seminary middle school and St. Pius X Preparatory Seminary high school. He also attended New York University and Adelphi University before dropping out to pursue his career in radio broadcasting. Sean's first show was canceled after only 40 hours of broadcasting, the radio station he worked for was KCSB and they decided to let him go after he made some comments about gays and lesbians. Sean himself admits that the show was not that great; he was quoted as saying "I wasn't good at it. I was terrible." But never the one to give up Sean posted ads calling himself "the most talked about college radio host in America", soon after he was hired again and this time he keep his show. A few years later in late 1996 he was offered a job by the co-founder of Fox News Roger Ailes; this job included hosting the show that has became one of his signatures: Hannity & Colmes. This show was co-hosted by Sean Hannity and Alan Colmes. After Colmes decided to leave the show in late 2008, a spin off was created called Hannity and as you can guess; none other than Sean himself hosts this show. Sean not only hosts radio and TV shows; he also does a lot to work to help families of American Troops. Since 2003 Sean has hosted a yearly "Freedom Concert", these concerts feature tons of Major recording artists such as: Billy Ray Cyrus, Lee Greenwood, and Michael W. Smith. All proceeds go to the Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund and as of 2009 over $9 million has been raised by these concerts. Although most liberals will not agree with his view points, the one thing that everybody agrees on is that Sean has earned his place in broadcasting. Whether it is television or radio; Sean has come out on top, he started as nothing and made himself into something and for that I have to give him credit. So if you can find the time check out either his radio or TV program; even if you do not agree with his view point you will find it very entertaining.
