Shark Tank is an American reality TV series that airs on ABC. This program was created by Mark Burnett; he is best known for making reality competition programs like this. Some of his best works include: The Apprentice, Survivor, and Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader. When Mark pitched the idea for this show to ABC they instantly knew it would be a hit and as soon as the show was given the green light filming began. Shark Tank features five Sharks/business tycoons. These five "sharks" have made their name in the business world by investing and knowing how to capitalize on whatever market is doing well at the present time. Some of them have made billions from their companies; the most notable out of the five is Daymond John who has pulled in more than 6 billion dollars from his clothing company FUBU. The show also features wannabe business moguls who usually have great ideas but no money to back them. This is a non-competitive show and all entrepreneurs have an equal chance of getting any one of the Sharks to invest in their business. Each idea is carefully scrutinized before being decided upon by the Sharks. One of the great things about programs like this is they give you knowledge that is useful. Yes they are very entertaining, but they are also very informative. Some of the ideas that the contestants come up with are genius. Television today is filled with so much junk entertainment that programs like this hardly get any air time at all, even although they receive just as many views (if not more) as regular drama, crime, or romance shows. On average Shark Tank receives 4.5 million viewers per episode, this is pretty impressive for a program that has been on air for less than a year. If you are tired of watching junk TV or you are just looking for something a little different than you would normally see check out Shark Tank on ABC. Each episode is approximately 60 minutes with commercials; this is about the average length for programs of this nature. So what are you waiting? Take a few minutes out of your "busy" day and see what this program can teach you. I am sure you will find it very informative and entertaining, just remember to recommend it to your friends and family if you like what you see.
