Soledad O'Brien is a CNN television broadcaster, who is now the anchor of the documentary called, In America. She won worldwide acclaim with her dawn news show American Morning which she hosted from 2003 to 2007. Her co-host Miles O'Brien was coincidentally named like her which led her to some special interest in the program. American Morning is a news show that offers direct reports of what is happening on the local front on various issues ranging from politics to international happenings. It is fast paced and provides a lot of information that are concise and comprehensive which usually demands a far sighted anchor. Soledad O'Brien did just that during her five year tenure as the host bringing a host of American television audience to the show. It was with CNN's American Morning that Soledad O'Brien launched the massive soul searching interviews on Hurricane Katrina in 2005, reporting live from New Orleans. She left the show in April, 2007. Soledad O'Brien's television career began with her stance at WBZ-TV in Boston, as a script writer for news stories and as an associate producer. She then went on to work with the NBC network. During that period she produced on location the programs Today and Nightly News from New York City. Her long run at NBC changed hands temporarily when she joined the partner station KRON where she reported in the program entitled The Know Zone. There she remained a total of three years acting in the top management. On the silver screen, O'Brien featured on the Discovery Channel's clips. She has won an Emmy award for her role as co-host in The Know Zone produced by the Discovery Channel. She also hosted MSNBC's The Site between 1996 and 1997 which won an award. Currently besides working in CNN on In America shows, she has finished shooting a Latin American documentary. She has also been crowned with humanitarian awards in the wake of her special interviews on Hurricane Katrina. Outside the television studios she has featured on People Magazine's list of 50 most beautiful persons back in 2001. Soledad O'Brien is married to Bradley Raymond, a banker. They were married in 1995, and since then the two have had four children. Officially known as Maria de la Soledad Teresa O'Brien, she was born on the 19th of September in 1966. She began her television career in the early 1990's and began her prime time career in 1991 with NBC television network.
