The Wanda Sykes Show is Wanda's newest addition to her lengthy portfolio. This is her very own late night show which is airs on the Fox Network at around 11pm every Saturday night. The Wanda Sykes Show was given the green light by Fox in the early part of 2009 and has been on air since November 7th 2009. Since then the show has gained mixed reactions from viewers, this is typical with most new late night show because the viewers do not know what to expect, even if they have been a fan of the host for a very long time. Also as with most late night shows, The Wanda Sykes Show is comprised of skits, guests, and various discussed topics; this means the show is mildly entertaining. It is just something to keep you entertained if you cannot go to sleep, so do not expect to see anything over the top. Most of the times I go over all the different awards the show has gotten. Well since this is a really new show there are no awards to speak of, but we can go off of Wanda's record. Wanda Sykes is an award winning standup comedian; she has won over four Emmys for her work in the entertainment industry. But her career has not been spotless, in 2008 Wanda was quoted as saying "I hope his kidneys fail" in reference to conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh. This was after Mr. Limbaugh had made statements about how he wanted than presidential candidate Barack Obama to "fail". This was nothing major and most of her fan did not even hear about the incident. Another thing that Wanda is praised for by some and hated for by others is her open support of the Gay rights movement. In 2008 Wanda finally came out of the closet and told the world that she is lesbian, soon after she married her female partner Alex. Nobody took this as a shock and she still continues to champion equal rights. This show is fairly new, so I cannot say if it is good or bad yet. What I do know is I like what I see so far; Wanda is no stranger to comedy and I am almost sure she is going to do a great job with her new show. If you have the time; swing by Fox at 11pm and check out The Wanda Sykes Show.
