Trauma is an American television medical drama that currently airs on NBC. This program was written by Dario Scradapane and Peater Noah and is currently directed by Jeff Reiner. Trauma made its debut on the NBC Network in the latter part of 2009 which means it is currently in its first season. This season is set to run for a total of 20 episodes, but I am almost sure NBC is going to up that number to about 22 by the end of this year. Trauma stars Derek Luck, Anastaisa Griffith, Aimee Garcia, Kevin Rankin, Taylor Kinny, Jamey Sheridan, and Cliff Curtis and is produced by Steven Sassen. Each episode runs for about 30 minutes and is aired in both standard definition and HD. Trauma is basically about the work of the "first response" team at San Francisco City Hospital. This is the most dangerous and gruesome job that one can be hired for at the hospital. The team is always risking their life to save the lives of others; this takes a toll on their marriage life, social life, and even their health. But the job has to be done and you could not ask for a better team than this. For the short time that this program has been on air it has already managed to accumulate a lot of criticism from national EMS organization. Most of them are very disturbed by the fact that this program portrays paramedics very inaccurately and the writers do not seem to care about the authenticity of their work. I have to take sides with the organizations on this one; there are so many other programs that get it right, why can't they? The viewership of this program has been pretty decent; Trauma receives around 5.7 million viewers per episode on average, but ratings have not been so good. Look, I'm not going to pound NBC into the ground for this show just yet. I am going to wait a few more months and see how this program turns out, but if NBC keeps taking this show in the same direction there may be problems. Hey, do not take my word for it; head over to NBC 9/8c and check out this program for yourself or you can log onto their website where you will find all kinds of cool things like full length episodes, cast information, and a place to discuss the show with other viewers.
