Raymond got a chance to meet with Kian Egan and Mark Feehily face-to-face in Newcastle but didn't recognize them. 'I don’t really know what Westlife looks like, but I know one of them is a blonde haired lad,' he said to Xtra Factor host, Caroline Flack. When Raymond revealed the song he wants to sing, the TV presenter introduces him to the two members of the band. X Factor contestant wore a light-coloured suit and a striped tie. Raymond claimed he didn’t know what to expect during the audition. 'I’ve never been in front of a crowd as big as this before. I’ll give it a go. It’s the only chance I’m going to get. I might pop my clogs before I get to the end of it, but I’ll enjoy it.' After his performance during the audition, Tulisa said: 'I absolutely loved that audition; I think that was a beautiful performance.' Joseph Whelan was another male singer who manage to get the votes from the judges. The guy was wearing camel-coloured trousers and a white V-neck T-shirt, the tool salesman from Wolverhampton, sang his rendition of Led Zeppelin's Whole Lotta Love but can’t control his emotion when his four-year-old son joined him on stage. 'Well the reason that I’m here today is because I really want to try and give my son the best life possible, I’d feel complete in life if i could do that.' he told the panel. 'You've got an amazing talent, you've got an authentic rock voice,' judge Louis Walsh told him after the performance. Gary Barlow regarded him as 'absolutely awesome,' while Melanie Brown said to him: 'You smashed it. You're really hot, you've got great tattoos, and you smash things up with tools, and then you sing...done.' Lifeguard Jake Quickenden also got the yes vote from the judges after singing a version of Kings of Leon's Use Somebody. 'I love your voice, I love your image, I thought it was a great song choice for your audition today, you were fantastic well done,' Gary told him. There were also a few females who manage to impress the judges during their audition. Full-time mother, Melanie Masson, got praised from the judges after belting out Janis Joplin's Cry Baby. 'I started singing in bands from the age of 15,' she told them before performing. I used to sing all over Glasgow, then I had two wonderful children who are my absolute life, but I still have dreams that I’ve yet to fulfil. 'Music is the only thing I’ve ever wanted to do, but I feel it’s kind of make or break now. I’m going to sing today like it’s the last time I’m ever going to sing.' 'Melanie that was insane, oh my god that voice, you were guiding us through the song. It was amazing, it really was,' Gary told her once she had finished. Tulisa agreed, saying: 'You came on stage, and you seemed really gentle and then all of a sudden this fire and this soul and this diva came out of you. You owned that stage you absolutely rocked it - that is how you do an audition. Amazing.' A group of young girls, hailing from Galsgow arrived during the audition dressed in full Scottish attire got the most attention. Tulisa even had her picture taken with the girls backstage.
