Grant Gustin portrays the role of the fastest man alive - Grant Gustin is the new 'Flash' and he ain't afraid to show his costume to everybody. He looks great in the new costume, which was made by Colleen Atwood, the same one that creates the costume of 'Green Arrow' in Arrow.

Grant Gustin is about to play the role of the fastest man alive. The only guy that beats Superman, on a race based on a comic book. And Grant Gustin is just what the doctor ordered as he got the sleek looked of Flash, just enough for his costume to live up to that hype. The 24-year-old displayed the suit for beloved DC Comics superhero The Flash in an image debuted by television network The CW on Tuesday. The burgundy-coloured bodysuit complete with matching masked-helmet and gold accents by the three-time Oscar winner Colleen Atwood. Director and executive producer for the pilot of The Flash series David Nutter said: 'I hope the fans who treasure the character are as excited as we are by what costume designer Colleen Atwood has achieved with this latest version of The Flash's iconic suit.' On Sunday, Gustin was spotted in Vancouver, Canada, in which he filmed an episode in a pivotal car crash scene in which Allen is seen pulling himself from the upturned wreck of his vehicle. The actor that played the role of Sebastian Smythe in Glee, sported a large graze on his forehead while dusting during a short break. He posted on Instagram after a wrapped up of the show, writing: ‘Set today. Utilizing a real scar. #peace #theflash.’ The actor was smiling as he idled on the exterior set while filming a pilot for the new series, which will air on American network The CW. Grinning broadly and smiling for photographers, Gustin appeared casual in the loose fitting jeans and scuffed boots won by Allen, who gains superhuman powers right after the event in his laboratory. This is the very first leading role for Gustin after a series of smaller TV appearances in Glee, 90210 and Arrow – another DC series in which he played Allen and his alter ego, The Flash, for two episodes. But as comic book fans keenly await the development-off, written by Greg Berlanti and directed David Nutter, critics’ doubts, if Gustin is really the right guy for the job, even if he had his two episode appearance in Arrow. ‘Gustin doesn't come across as leading man material,’ said IGNs Jessie Schedeen. ‘His awkward bumbling intertwining with (Arrow character) Felicity's was cute, but rarely did I get the impression that this character could or should be given his own spinoff series.’ Other celebrity on the new show will be Jesse L. Martin, Danielle Panabaker, Tom Cavanagh and John Wesley Shipp – who was the Flash back in a previous series, aired in 1990 on CBS.
