British Broadcasting Corporation Television (BBC TV) is Britain's publicly funded television network and is a service of the British Broadcasting Corporation. BBC TV started in 1932 and has been broadcasting ever since.
Before I go any further I should state the fact that BBC TV is a group of television stations, some of which are international. For example BBC America is an entertainment channel broadcasting in the United States; this channel is co-owned by Discovery Networks and plays British television programming. Similar television stations are provided for Canada, Australia, and many other countries.
So
what about news? Well,
BBC World News is always very informative and they cover stories you will not hear anywhere else. If you are interested in news from a different perspective, BBC World News is the best way to go. One down side is that
BBC World News is not official available in Britain, that is something I will never understand.
BBC Entertainment is owned by BBC Worldwide and broadcasts comedy, drama, and a lot of other entertainment programming. The television station was established in late 2006 to replace BBC Prime and other BBC entertainment channels around the world. BBC entertainment is available by satellite in 10 countries and by cable in another 4 countries worldwide. Most of the comedy is light and pretty decent. I give this channel a 7/10

Over all
BBC TV has done a very good job with all of their channels, and it is definitely worth the time to check-out their programming, especially the world news channel since most of the information we get from our major news networks is all the same. Call your cable service provider and ask if they carry BBC TV channels.
