Born on 25th of October, 1950, Chuck Roberts has enjoyed long term success with CNN. He majored a lot of the top stories to hit the headlines and has kept the nation informed of many well known and well covered historic events. He has had the opportunity of covering every American presidential election since the channel started in 1982. He has also had the honor of hosting the 228th birthday celebration of the U.S. Army in Atlanta. In addition to that, Chuck Roberts presented and reported on other major events such as the Hurricane Hugo in 1989. He was also a major reporter of the prison riots that took place in Atlanta in 1985 and was also a reporter on the Wayne Williams child murders trial. All in all, Chuck Roberts is a well known face to the American audience. His career has been built on solid foundation. Chuck Roberts earned his bachelor's degree in journalism from Missouri University. He has a good educational track record and his educational achievements earned him a Faculty/ Student award for outstanding journalism in 1971. Following his education at the Missouri University, his first main jobs in broadcasting was at KOMU-TV as a morning new presenter. He was involved in this role for a year between the years 1970-1971 before moving onto working as a newscaster for WHB radio. He spent 2 years at the Kansas City based station from 1971 to 1973. After leaving the Radio broadcasting job, at the WHB Radio station, Chuck Roberts became the anchor at the KRGV-TV. This role was again assumed for only a couple of years between 1973 and 1975. His experience then took him onto becoming a chief principal anchor at KMTV. When he was at the Omaha based station, Chuck Roberts became well known for conducting an exclusive interview with the infamous serial killer; Caril Ann Fugate. The solid experience that he gained in these broadcasting roles helped him start with CNN and gain a long term spot for the weekday broadcasted Headline news. Since then he has become a well known household name across America. Chuck Roberts holds various affiliations with professional bodies including membership of the Atlanta Press Club and the National Society of Professional Journalists. Chuck Roberts participates in charity work in and around Atlanta. This work mainly includes working with the Project for Humanity causes in Atlanta.
