Everyone recognizes him and appreciates him for the quality work he has been doing all these years. David Letterman's story of success is very interesting and gripping and it is a savor for his fans. He was born to Harry Joseph Letterman, his father and a florist by profession and Dorothy Letterman his mother who is the secretary to the church. David starting working as an announcer at the college's radio station but was fired because he irreverently treated classical music. After completing his graduation he pioneered his career as a radio host at the WLVI TV Station in Indianapolis. His influential views and great communicative skills really helped him in exceeding in his tasks and jobs. After a successful start from the Radio world he jumped into the television fraternity and began his career as a television show host. He worked in children shows as a host and performed some hilarious acts. His perfect comic timings and witty nature earned his applauds from the whole country. He worked in 'Freeze-Dried Movies' and early morning show 'Clover Power'. Both of these shows were highly successful and proved to be the great catalysts for his television career. His career as a comedian began in and around the year 1975 when his wife Michelle (He is now divorced) insisted that they shift to LA. He started off from writing for the Sitcom Good Times TV and also started performing as a stand up comedian. Just like many other versatile comedians he also gained a lot from the very popular 'The Comedy Club' where he used to perform initially. His witty nature which is full of sarcasm was adored by the Carson's whom he owes his career. He was the most expected guest on the show- 'The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson'. In 1980 one show that bagged him two Emmy awards was his own morning show- 'The David Letterman Show' on NBC. This show was a great success. It was loved by the audience and was also appreciated critically by the critics. As per the contract that was made between NBC and David, he got another show 'Late Nights with David Letterman'. This show became a huge success and increased the fan following of David to many folds. David Letterman then joined CBS in the year 1993 for starting his own show- 'The Tonight Show'. He was paid a lucrative amount for this show by CBS. He also hosted the 67th Academy Awards and rumors are like he might get a chance to host the Oscars all over again. David Letterman is not a just a good host and comedian but is also a consistent producer who manages his production company 'World Wide Pants' exceptionally well.
