Holland's Next Top Model winner wins lawsuit against agency Ananda Marchildon is a former winner of the Next Top Model version of Holland. She recently won her court case against her former agency following the time that she got dropped from the agency just because she got huge hips. The Amsterdam District Court has declared that the decision to drop her from one of the rosters of Elite Model wasn’t right. The court claimed that she was entitled to the main prize she won back in the 2008 production of the show, a three-year contract worth £63,000. Marchildon deputed about being dismissed following only £8,400 worth of work since she didn't lose enough weight in order to please the agency. The ruling noted that though, Marchildon had gained weight since the signing of the contract, she had a hip measurement of 92cm - about 36.2in - when she won, and Elite doesn’t have the right demanding her to go down to 90cm - about 35.4in. In the U.S. size 2 can be considered smaller than the average woman's but not rare in the modeling world. According to the spokeswoman of Elite, they were considering their options. She declined in discussing details about Elite's position. The published ruling consisted of an email exchange between the 5ft 11 in model and a representative of Elite in the Netherlands whose name got redacted. The agency claims that they are going to keep on measuring her until the allotted time. On March 23, 2010, she got a measurement of 98 centimeters from her hips. The agency intends to get her to 90 centimeters at the end of June. Marchildon agreed that she would get her shape back. However, she couldn’t get her shaped back. That doesn’t change the contract since it wasn’t noted on the said contract. By September, the model and agency parted ways. Her lawyer alleged that she would comment about proceeding on Wednesday. He won the lawsuit against her former agency thus enabling her to get £55,000 in damages, plus interest and legal fees. Most of the time, the fashion industry faced criticism because they are creating unrealistic probability regarding women’s bodies and forcing models to undergo harmful diets. Agency noted that they are only trying to give the best to their clients. A model that doesn’t fit into their category simply won’t get work. In the Netherlands, underwear company Sloggi hired Marchildon for a one-time shoot on Monday so that she could that she is still fit to model.
