Mariah Carey claimed she would hire extra security on Thursday after Nicki Minaj apparently threatened to shoot her - and she was not exaggerating. The singer appeared on American Idol auditions in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Friday with a police escort, several bodyguards and minders in tow. Like always, the diva lived up to her reputation as she struts in for her day on set in Baton Rouge. She wore a hot pink dress and high heels, diamond shaped drop earrings and oversized sunglasses. One bodyguard helped her keep her balance when he holds onto her arm while another had the carries an umbrella to shield her from the sun. Following the feud with fellow judge, she appeared tense as she constantly looks over her shoulder with a worried expression on her face. Yesterday she said that she would get extra security because she is worried about the 29-year-old rapper's ‘unpredictable’ behaviour. This was after Barbara Walters contacted her to warn her about the statement on The View in which she claimed several Idol staff members had heard Nicki quip: ‘If I had a gun I would shoot the b****!' Barbara continued: 'She said she is very concerned, she's with her twins; she doesn't feel that anything would happen, but Nicki is unpredictable, and Mariah says she can't take a chance and has hired extra security.' Ms Walters continued with the singer's statement: 'Nicki has not apologised, but they were together in meetings... during which Nicki said, "I love you, but we might fight again!" 'Mariah said at this point she doesn't feel comfortable emotionally, but she will continue with the show because she loves mentoring the contestants.' The catfight between the two divas was caught on camera and left everyone 'shocked' and 'embarrassed', but it seems the two newly appointed judge of Fox Network’s Talent show, American Idol won't be calling a truce anytime soon. Nicki went to her Twitter page and has unleashed several harsh statements about her fellow judge, Mariah Carey. The rapper tweets: ‘Tried to keep quiet but let's go!!!! ‘I thought we resolved it yesterday, but I see u want ur pity party to continue. So I'm bout to po dot tea. ‘I don't call tmz n Barbara Walters cuz I stand on my own two feet. Never needed an army. God is good. Insecurity is as cruel as the grave. ‘I guess it hurts 2 have the producers tell u to ur face that nicki is the best judge we've had since simon. Awww, poor u. Keep them lies cmn.’ Fellow judge Urban assessed the fight, jokingly; he said he felt like ‘the UN’ caught in the middle of the fight. In the meantime, Idol producers have done their best to stop the feud between their two judges.
