He worked as a news anchor for ABC7 and NBC4 which are both based in Washington DC. He has also won several Emmy awards and the highly valued Edward R. Murrow Award for Excellence in Broadcasting. He won the award for his documentary about the D-Day invasion that took place during the Second World War During his career in the broadcasting industry, he has worked as a media advisor to some of the Fortune 500 CEOs, leaders in various non-governmental organizations and Congress members. His most recent job was as a Senior Vice President of Communication for the National Association of Manufacturers which is based in Washington DC. His most recent project was working with private business people, Native Americans and the government to increase the economic developments in the Indian country. Some of the other stations that he has worked for include WJLA-TV based in Washington DC, KTVT-TV based in Dallas and WBAL-TV based in Baltimore. Mike Hambrick also worked as a newscaster for WPXI-TV which is based in Pittsburgh. While at WPXI-TV, Mike Hambrick was also the news director at the station.
