In January 2006, she joined FOX News Channel as a general correspondent. She had previously worked at CNN where she was a primetime contributor to the network and has held a number of positions. Her career at CNN made her travel to a number of foreign regions but later relocated to the headquarters in Atlanta. She worked as the morning anchor on Headline News and was on air during the terrorist attacks in 2001. Rudi was born in California but her family moved to Iran when she was five years old and where she spent most of her childhood. She has a younger brother and sister. The family moved back to America when she was seventeen. She attended the University of California at Los Angeles where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology degree. Her dream was to be a dentist but she had reservations about attending dental school. She has also studied architecture at the Career Discovery Program at Harvard University. She has had a number of accolades to her name including the Iranian American Republican Council Achievement Award I n 2002 for the recognition of Outstanding Achievement, Excellence and Accomplishments within the Iranian American Community. She was also recognized by Lycos as one of the popular television news personalities in the industry. She has also helped on the launching of four new business programs on CNN International. She was the mistress of ceremony for the Iranian American Technology Council Gala and Bam earthquake fund raiser organized by the House of Iran. Her memorable story was the one she covered during the economic crisis in Asia. She also covered some stories on malnourished children in Indonesia and admits that she could not get the images of poverty and starvation from her mind. She hopes to use her position to bring these stories in the limelight to enable them get help. She held the position of the general correspondent at FOX News Channel until July 2007. In 2008, she became the first director of Public Relations for the Public Affairs Alliance of Iranian Americans She spends her weekend involving in several of her hobbies such as tennis, skiing, horseback riding, yoga and rock climbing. She has recently taken up taekwondo and loves to travel. Her favorite music includes Enigma by Sarah Mclachan and Mirrorball. When it comes to music Rudi likes The Deer Hunter, The Godfather part ii, Good Will Hunting and One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest.
