Rudi Bakhtiar was born on June 21 in 1966 in Fresno California. She is an Iranian American Journalist and has worked with major television stations in the United States of America for more than 10 years. She currently works as the Director of communication for the international campaign for human rights in Tehran Iran. Early life When she was aged only two Bakhtiar's family moved from Fresno California to Los Angeles California before relocating to Iran. Rudi and her family lived in Iran until she was about 17 years when her family moved back to the United States following the Iranian Revolution in 1979. Education On her return to the United States the young Bakhtiar joined the University of California, Los Angeles where she studied Biology hoping to pursue a career in dentistry which she later dropped. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. She joined New York New York University Dental School but later opted out after choosing not to pursue dentistry. Career She started out working at a pharmaceutical company involved in pharmaceutical sales .How she became a journalist is still a subject of debate because she did not attend any journalism school her education background being in biology. However she still went on to be one of the journalists of her times scooping numerous awards in the process. She joined CNN in 1996 where she held multiple positions including anchoring on the station's spin–off network. She also took part in anchoring the start of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in the United States. She was able to report from many different countries during her illustrious career as a journalist. After her 9 year spell at CNN Bakhtiar, joined FOX News channel as a general correspondent a post she held until July 2007.In 2008 she joined the Public Affairs Alliance of Iranians Americans becoming the first director of public relations for the organization which aims to give Iranian Americans a voice in Politics. She quit her job early this year and went back to Iran where she is working for the International Campaign for human rights in Tehran. Awards Bakhtiar has received numerous awards including the Iranian American Council Achievement Award for her contribution to the Iranian community living in America. She is not married and once made it to a magazine list of twenty most eligible spinsters. Her hobbies include white water rafting, scuba diving tennis, yoga as well as horseback riding something she has enjoyed since she was a child.
