Early life Sam Donaldson was born on 11th March 1934 in El Paso in Texas. Sam's mother (Chloe nee Hampson) who worked as a school teacher and his father worked as a farmer (Samuel Andrew Donaldson). He grew up in a small town called Chamberino. At a tender age most people recognized that Sam was a bright student and he joined the Mexico military institute but that's not before he attended the Texas western college which later changed its name to the University of Texas. Sam Donaldson's career When in the university of Texas Sam served as a station manager of the KTEP which taught him also or responsibilities that he came to later use in life. After working as a station manager Donaldson joined the United States army in 1956 and worked up to 1959 where he served as an artillery officer. But soon after this he became an anchor for WTOP TV which is in Washington where he only worked during weekends. This was in 1966. He did weather forecast side by side with another anchor John Douglas during the 6 pm and 11 pm news. By 1971 Sam Donaldson, was working with one of the most exclusive news channels the ABC news where he did a report on everything that was happening in Vietnam. During this time he was already an ABC correspondent in the white house which mostly entailed covering all the stories that concerned the president and anything to do with his line of work. During one of the press conference Sam Donaldson, asked the president one of the most remembered question which was about if the blame for the continued recession as partly his fault. This question propelled him to great heights. Sam Donaldson was a common face during the Sunday morning talk show titled This Week with David Brinkley but soon David retired and Sam took up his role in the show but co hosted it with Cokie Roberts for several years. Now Donaldson hosts a show in ABC news called Politics Live which as an added feature "stump Sam" whereby views get the chance to ask Donaldson presidential trivia question which he has to answer. During the attempt assassination of President Ronald Reagan, Donaldson was present and complied one of the most interesting report which captured everyone who saw it on the ABC network.
